Kevin + Marielle | California Desert Engagement Session
Kevin and Marielle were referred to me by a mutual friend, referrals always make me feel warm and fuzzy and the gratitude is always big time feels. After booking we kind of dove straight into planning their engagement session because they had a specific vibe in mind. They mentioned post apocalyptic with a vogue edge, two lovers still standing at the end of the world, vast, rugged landscapes mixed with romance. Now, most people reading this would say WT-actual-F, but when they came to me with this idea my mind was flooded with inspiration and excitement to create these types of photographs.
I sent them a few location ideas, but this location was the one I was really hoping they would choose… And they did! I took a chance asking them to drive 3 hours into the middle of the desert to spend more than half the day shooting, in a place I’ve only been hiking a few other times. But these landscapes!! Light, dark, rugged, soft, stark, empty and full, this guys, this is what life and love are made of!
Thank you Kevin and Marielle for trusting me with this vision, for following me into the desert and for climbing up treacherous lava flows. For nerd bonding over Game of Thrones and letting Tucker come along for the ride. (Side note, Tucker LOVED Kevin and full on tried to make out with him… That’s what you call a full service photography experience, haha!!). We deeply appreciate the people you are and we can NOT wait until your wedding day!
